Mike McStocker’s extensive experience in the insurance industry is a tremendous advantage to his customers in that he is knowledgeable about underwriting and pricing issues, in addition to risk management solutions. Those attributes ultimately reduce the exposures of his clients which effectively reduces their insurance costs. Mike is the Captive Unit Manager, overseeing programs for construction companies, manufacturers, transportation and service companies with premiums in excess of $100,000. He is responsible for over $4 million of premium placed in various captive programs.

Mike started his insurance career in 1974 upon graduation from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He joined Continental Insurance Company as a career trainee. His 17 years at Continental included underwriting assignments, Newport Beach Assistant Branch Manager in charge of underwriting and sales and the Zone Sales Officer for the Sacramento Region with responsibilities from Chicago to the West Coast.

In 1991, Mike joined InterWest to pursue a more local focus. He had he two teenagers at the time and no longer wanted the extensively travel demanded by his corporate position. Mike is currently a partner and Vice President of InterWest.

In 1992, Mike received the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriting (CPCU) designation which is awarded to insurance industry candidates who successfully pass ten written exams encompassing all facets of the insurance industry. Mike’s education, experience and strong communication skills make him a valuable member of the InterWest team.
