Brandon Harris joined InterWest in 2003, bringing 20 years of a variety of experiences to the Risk Management Department in the fields of Public Safety & Education, Criminology, Construction, Hospitality and 10 years as a local business owner.
With a strong focus in Cal/OSHA Consultative Support, Customized Safety Program Development, as well as Employee and Management Safety One-on-One Training, Brandon’s primary focus is to provide comprehensive hands-on services to his clients.
Some of Brandon’s specialties include: Cal/OSHA Compliance Risk Assessments, Property and Casualty Survey, Accident(s) Root Cause Analysis, Body Mechanics and Ergonomics Analysis, Customized Safety Program Development & Implementation, Business Continuity Planning/Disaster Preparedness, First Aid/CPR Training, Sexual Harassment Prevention, Fleet Safety Training, Fall Protection Program Implementation, National Trainer for Intervention Procedures of Alcohol Service Providers (TIPS), Hazard Communications, Respiratory Protection, Lock Out-Tag Out, Confined Space Awareness and more.
Brandon is a native to the North State whose family spans back many generations of farmers and educators in the area. He currently resides in Chico with his wife Mari and their daughters MacKenzie & Kaylee. He prides himself in his community involvement with a strong emphasis on public safety and education, serving on the board of the Butte Inter-Agency Rescue Group (BIRG) and is a 25-year veteran and instructor for the Butte County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue Team. Those specialties include Helicopter Rescue Crew Chief, Water Rescue Technician and Rescue Scuba Diver. His experience also extends into Law Enforcement with additional expertise in the medical field as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
Brandon is an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and maintains his certification as a Safety Management Specialist (SMS). He routinely attends trade shows, industry-specific seminars and a variety of continuing education classes to keep current with regulatory and industry changes.
