Scott Pitman joined InterWest Insurance Services in April, 2011, as a Risk Management Consultant. He began his career in the grocery business in 1983 in Chico, California. He was promoted to Store Director while working for Food-4-Less, transferring into the Risk Management department after Food-4-Less was purchased by SaveMart Supermarkets. His industry knowledge is extensive in the areas of retail, commercial transportation and wholesale produce. Scott has held positions as Operation Manager, Risk Manager and Human Resources/Safety Director, and he possesses a strong background in Cal/OSHA compliance, Food Safety Sanitation guidelines, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and Mining Safety Health Administration requirements (MSHA).
Scott is currently administering a web-based Risk Management platform that is in the forefront of the industry. Through this platform, InterWest can deliver a centralized Loss Control center, providing services to a much broader range of clients. Scott’s background in employee training and development thoroughly compliments this product. His practical approach to safety aligns with keeping things simple. The specialized information provided by InterWest combined with Scott’s industry expertise can help clients continue to improve their safe environment.
Scott is certified in First-Aid and CPR/AED and is also an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). He is currently working towards an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation. Scott resides in Chico with his wife and two teenage sons. He is an active volunteer with a local high school sports booster club and is a strong believer in supporting and empowering youth through camaraderie and competition.
