This event is focused on legislative updates for employers, as well as employer compliance and liability issues. We’ve invited Marjory Robertson, AVP & Senior Counsel, Sun Life and Abigail O’Connell, Senior Counsel, Sun Life, to provide an update on recent leave and accommodation developments, including the federal Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act, and how these impact the workplace. They will also review current leave and accommodation trends, as well as case law lessons learned. Attendees can receive 1 hour of SHRM and HRCI credit at the completion of the webinar.


Marjory Robertson
AVP & Senior Counsel, Sun Life

Marjory Robertson is Sun Life’s employment attorney, so she advises our HR and managers on ADA, FMLA and other absence issues. She also regularly speaks at MVP broker events, as well as at conferences sponsored by professional organizations. She aims to educate, entertain, and provide you with practical and commons sense guidance that you can share with your clients on these important challenges for employers. She has an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, cum laude, and her law degree from Boston College Law School, magna cum laude.

Abigail O’Connell
Senior Counsel, Sun Life

Abigail O’Connell is senior counsel at Sun Life Financial, advising Sun Life’s Group & Voluntary business on legal issues related to the Sun Life Absence & Disability Management Solutions offered to employer Clients. She frequently speaks at industry conferences about legal and compliance issues related to absence management. She is a graduate of Colgate University and Suffolk University Law School.
