TOPIC – Network Security, Privacy and Cyber Risks: What are the Risks and Why are Companies Buying Insurance for Such Risks?

This session will provide a general overview of network security, privacy and cyber risks and the stand-alone insurance policies designed to manage and protect against the exposures.  It will be moderated by an insurance lawyer who has advised corporate clients on insurance program structure and coverage issues for 30 years.   Real life examples of actual claims, losses and associated issues will be presented, as well as insurance solution options to address the exposures.  He will also discuss the reasons why companies should buy insurance or self-insure to protect against network security, privacy and cyber risk vulnerabilities that are growing in frequency, complexity and cost.
