John Hopkins

John Hopkins has been a principal of InterWest Insurance Services for more than twenty years. Heading up the Surety division for InterWest, John’s well-deserved reputation for integrity and leadership earned him a seat on the InterWest Board of Directors in 2006.

His knowledge of construction industry challenges and processes, including the management and administration of contracts and construction accounting procedures, have given him the opportunity to represent many of InterWest’s largest construction clients. John’s extensive national experience as a Surety Bond specialist has provided him with the technical expertise necessary to develop and maintain the relationships with surety underwriters and other professional service providers that are essential to support InterWest’s surety clients.

John, and the entire InterWest surety team, are committed to using their surety expertise and knowledge to ensure the growth and profitability of InterWest’s surety clients.

John remains active in several construction and surety associations. He is a member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP), the only professional organization representing surety professionals. John has also served on the National Agency Advisory Council for CNA Surety. John is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the California Surety Federation (CSF), the only industry lobbying group representing the surety industry in California.

He is a past president, and served on the Board of Directors for ten years, of the Valley Contractors Exchange (VCE). John also served as a board member for the local chapter of the Building Industry Association (BIA) for twelve years, and has previously served on the board of the Sacramento Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).

InterWest also maintains active involvement with various construction trade organizations including the Associated General Contractors (AGC), the Associated Builders and Contractors of California (ABC), the American Subcontractors Association (ASA), and the Surety Association of Northern California.

John has three children, and is an avid outdoor enthusiast residing in Sacramento.
