Jessica Santana joined InterWest as a Claims Consultant in August, 2015. She has been a consultant for employers for the last fourteen years, providing education in claims and disability management, accident investigation, litigation strategy, employee return-to-work, and overall reduction of their workers’ compensation experience modifications. Serving a wide range of clients has allowed her to develop strategic approaches that work for each organization.
Employers value the claims solutions Jessica develops, as they reduce costs and positively impact workplace injuries and illnesses. She specializes in helping her clients navigate through the increasingly complex system by serving as their liaison with the insurance carriers and third party administrators (TPA). She prides herself on finding creative ways to work with employers, occupational clinics and doctors, adjusters, and attorneys to bring lost time indemnity claims to an efficient and effective resolution.
Jessica has been instrumental in assisting with the development and implementation of many successful Safety Committees and First Aid and Return-to-Work Programs, providing clients with training and education. By analyzing the development of legislative changes and case law, she is also able to offer tools and knowledge to develop policies and procedures. She has excellent communication and presentation skills.
She holds her Workers’ Compensation Claims Professional (WCCP) designation and her California Property & Casualty Broker’s License. Jessica takes pride in furthering her education by attending seminars and informational classes and is working on her Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation.
Outside of work, Jessica’s passions are her 7 year old son and coordinating his extracurricular activities, family time, baseball, basketball, the gym, and cooking for loved ones. She believes an active happy household affords her the appreciation to provide meaningful services with tangible results to clients.
