Workers’ Compensation Claims
Our Specialists have an extensive background in workers’ compensation claim management with a variety of industries. Their experience with insurance and claims organizations has equipped them to guide our clients through the complex and frustrating aspects of the workers’ compensation system.
We designate a Workers’ Compensation Claim Specialist to tailor a claims-management program to meet our client’s unique needs and develop a written service timeline that outlines our commitments. Our Specialist serves as a liaison throughout the process, closely monitoring claims and acting as an advocate with the carrier or third-party administrator to ensure that claims are managed to a favorable timely outcome.
Our claims management program begins with the best practice of analyzing the current experience rating worksheet for accuracy and developing a strategy to monitor reserves on open claims for adequacy and closure. The goal is to positively impact the modification factor. In addition, we forecast the next unpublished experience rating for planning and budgetary purposes and to identify opportunity for corrections and revisions.
Our stewardship plan includes facilitating the transition to a new insurance carrier, monitoring claims and coordinating formal claim reviews on an agreed- upon frequency. Our Claim Specialists also work in concert with our Risk Control and HR Consulting Specialists to coordinate services.
InterWest is heavily invested in providing training for our clients and prospective clients. We have developed an Employers’ School which we present in several venues quarterly on pertinent timely topics. The presenters include our own in-house specialists as well as outside experts.
